Garlic is the main crop grown on Tellus Ceres Farm.
As Garlic is notoriously difficult to grown in the humid sub-tropics of the Northern Rivers, it was imperative that we chose the right cultivars. After months of research we decided on three different varieties which would give us a cross section of flavours and early and late planting schedules.
These two cultivars were developed at Gatton University to withstand the humid conditions. They are slightly smaller in bulb size however this does not diminish the flavour which is incredibly strong with spicy undertones.
Russian (or Elephant Garlic as it's sometimes called) in not a true Garlic. It belongs in the Leak family and has extra large cloves and a soft garlicky flavour.
We are branching out to include more incredibly healthy produce with the addition of a Mushroom farm.
Gorgeous Gourmet Mushrooms; eat them fresh, dried or as an inclusion to our Artisan products.
These Heirloom Tomatoes taste amazing, just like a tomato should. Full of color and crazy gorgeous shapes.
Just look at these yummy suds. We are growing two different varieties now, Dutch Cream and Sebago
Crisp refreshing cucumbers. My favorites, the Apple Cucumber is just scrumptious lathered in our best selling Garlic Dip, Toum.
Zucchini are so versatile. Roasted, in stews, fresh & raw. Use them as a substitute for pasta in Lasagnas and Spaghetti
Chillies are an absolute 'must' in every kitchen.
At Tellus Ceres Farm we are growing a number of varieties which should match every taste bud - from the hottest of hot to a mild lemony flavor.
